Add some extra detail to your Mk1 coaches with these headstock air and vacuum brake pipes, steam heat pipes and electric train heat cables.
Set includes enough for one Mk1 Coach (please read the full Product Description).
OO Gauge (supplied unpainted)
Until the 1960s the majority of BR trains operated using Vacuum brakes, following which air brakes were widely introduced.
Between the 1960s and the mid 1980s it was common to see locos and rolling stock dual braked (i.e. fitted with both vacuum and air brakes).
The use of vacuum brakes on BR was phased out during the 1980s.
This set of brake pipes and cables is enough for both ends of one (1) Mk1 Coach, the UNPAINTED pack includes:-
2 - Air Brake Pipes (BP)
2 - Main Reservoir Pipes (MRP)
2 - Vacuum Hoses with hose dummy bracket (VAC)
2 - Steam Heat Pipes (S/H)
2 - ETH (Electric Train heating) Cables (ETH)
2 - ETH (Electric Train heating) Receptacles (ETH)
For vacuum only braked rolling stock, fit just the vacuum pipe.
For air braked rolling stock, fit both the (BP) red and (MRP) yellow pipes.
For dual braked rolling stock fit all the pipes.
For coaches fitted for steam heating fit just the Steam Heat pipes (S/H)
For coaches fitted with just ETH, fit the Electric Train Heat Cables (ETH)
For dual heated stock fit all the heating pipes and cables.
Note these parts are delicate and some may not be suitable for use with couplings fitted, especially on tighter radius curves.
The pipes have a 0.7mm peg that can be fitted into a drilled hole in the buffer beam, alternatively the peg can be cut-off and the pipe attached with a small amount of adhesive.
The pipes and cables are supplied unpainted, please refer to the pictures for typical colours.
Top-Tip - use a light coat of white primer first, and paint the pipes before removing them from the sprue.
