In May 1991, Class 33 locomotive 33115 was converted to a test locomotive in connection with the proposed Channel Tunnel trains. It was fitted with Eurostar type bogies that had third rail collection shoes. The locomotive was renumbered 83301. During the tests it was semi-permanently coupled to Class 73 73205.
83301 was unpowered, being used to collect current from the 3rd rail which was then transferred to the 73 via heavy duty cabling to provide motive power. 

This kit of parts may be used to modify your Class 33 and Class 73 models (not supplied) to represent 83301 and 73205.

The UNPAINTED parts kit includes the following:-
4 - Bogie sideframes representing those fitted to 83301, these are designed to fit a Heljan Class 33 model
4 - sets of body mounted cab footsteps for 83301
1 - Cable box for the heavy duty cables on 83301
1 - Cable box (2 parts) for the heavy duty cables on the Class 73 (includes magnets to attach the two parts)
2 - Cable ducting parts for the end of the Class 73, these are designed to fit a Dapol Class 73 model
1 - Dummy cable box for the Class 73 (may be fitted if the two locos are not connected)
1 - length of rubber tubing that may be used to represent the heavy duty cabling between the two locos
1 - Close Stepped Hunt Coupling for 83301
1 - Intermediate Hunt Coupling for the Class 73

These parts are supplied unpainted on the sprue, it is recommended to apply a light coat of primer before painting
