Detailed Pipes and Cables for a Refurbished Class 31 Locomotive (1980s onwards) - OO Gauge (SET 29)

Pipes, ETH cables and multiple working jumper cables for both ends of one Class 31 locomotive. Suitable for refurbished locomotives without the buffer casings.

From the early 1980s a refurbishment programme was applied to Class 31 locomotives. This set is suitable for locomotives after refurbishment without the buffer casings, and also includes ETH cables for locomotives fitted with Electric Train Heating.

This set of brake pipes is enough for both ends of one refurbished Class 31 Locomotive, the UNPAINTED pack includes:-

2 - Air Brake Pipes (BP) - Red
4 - Main Reservoir Pipes (MRP) - Yellow
2 - Vacuum Hoses with hose dummy bracket (VAC)
4 - Regulating Control Air Pipes (CA) - White
2 - Multiple-Working Jumper Cables (M/W) - Orange
2 - Multiple-Working Jumper Receptacles (M/W) - Orange
2 - Electric Train Heating Cables (ETH) - Orange
2 - Electric Train heating Receptacles (ETH) - Orange

Notes:-

• There were many variations between members of the refurbished Class 31 fleet in pipe configurations, fitting and placement; therefore it is recommended to refer to photographs of the real thing when fitting these parts.
• The ETH cables should be fitted to refurbished Class 31/4 locomotives, or those converted for ETH after refurbishment.
• For NON-refurbished Class 31 locomotives (with original buffer casings) please use the alternative SET-3 pipes & cables, product code 4WH0801203.
• All pipes have a 0.7mm peg that can be fitted into a drilled hole in the buffer beam, alternatively the peg can be cut-off and the pipe attached with a small amount of adhesive.
• These parts are delicate and may not be suitable for use with couplings fitted, especially on tighter radius curves.
• The pipes are supplied unpainted, please refer to pictures for typical colours.
• Top-Tip - use a light coat of white primer first, and paint the pipes before removing them from the sprue.
